Tayun's Terrific Tofu Recipe

You will need:

6 14oz pkg Extra firm tofu

1.25 cup (300g) Corn starch

2 heads Broccoli (florets)

Two cups Diced carrots/peas

Two yellow onions

10 cups brown rice

SWEET AND SPICY SAUCE

1/8 cup ketchup

1/8 cup rice syrup (I've heard sugar or honey works, as well as corn syrup)

2 tbs red pepper paste (gochujang)

HONEY GARLIC SAUCE

3 cloves garlic

1/6 cup honey

1/8 cup water

1tbs rice vinegar

1/2 tbs soy sauce

Instructions:

FRIED TOFU

1. Cut into bite sized pieces

2. Pat dry

3. Coat with cornstarch

4. Fry on medium heat (longer = crispier)

5. Strain

6. If you're feeling extra saucy you can fry again

Reminder: the sauces do soften up the tofu a little so fry the tofu until it's a little tougher than you would want it to be.

SWEET AND SPICY SAUCE

1. Med-high heat! Stir until bubbling.

2. Add tofu and then turn off heat and mix until well coated

3. If the cooknight sauce is too spicy, add less gochujang!

HONEY GARLIC SAUCE

1. Fry the garlic until fragrant -> add everything else

2. Continue to cook and occasionally stir until the sauce reduces and is a bit thicker

3. Add tofu and mix on low heat.
